  • Initiating a Successful Project: Tips for creating a firm foundation for project success including: executive sponsorship, clear business objectives, reasonable expectations, and a well-defined project scope. (2 days)
  • Project Planning and Execution: Proven techniques for creating a realistic project plan, managing risks, and working with the project team to successfully execute the plan. (2 days)
  • Software Project Management: Project management techniques tailored specifically for software projects including current software development life cycle approaches and methodologies. (4 days)
  • Peer Review Techniques: Three types of peer reviews: inspections, walkthroughs, and desk checks as well as guidelines for selecting the most appropriate type in a given situation. (1 day)
  • Joint Application Development (JAD) Training: Skills and techniques necessary to plan, schedule, and conduct JAD sessions, including experience role playing on a real JAD session. (2 days)
  • Project Management Overview: An introduction to the basic project management framework, team roles, and key management tools for small to medium sized projects. (4 hours)
  • Sponsoring a Successful Project: Definition of the role of the executive sponsor in defining, prioritizing, reviewing, and supporting the project to create an environment for a successful project. (2 hours)
  • Portfolio Management Processes: A business perspective based team approach for selecting, prioritizing, and managing the trade-offs between multiple projects. (4 hours)
